- One of the earliest maps of the American Southwest and Mexico, this map focuses specifically on Spanish-controlled areas. The southern part of present-day Texas is labeled Floridae Pars, with the Río Grande labeled R. de Palmas. This is one of nineteen maps of the Americas contained in Wytfiet’s atlas, the first atlas devoted exclusively to the New World. Purchased through the generosity of the Edelmiro ’67 and Alicia Muñiz Endowment for Excellence.
