- Title:
- A map of Mexico or New Spain, Florida now called Louisiana and part of California and c
- Creator:
- Moll, Herman, -1732
- Abstract:
- This circa 1715 map shows Spanish, French, and English colonies in North America. Of note is the clear colonization of New Mexico and the settlements along the northern Río Grande. Since the Spanish closely guarded geographic information, it is unusual to see such detail. Texas is not named, but the Río Grande is shown as a boundary for French Louisiana; it is identified by an alternate name: the North River.
