- The Republic of Texas is prominent in this rare Italian imprint of a Duvotenay map. Texas is shown in the classic “heart shape,” mirroring the boundaries present on Stephen F. Austin’s Map of Texas. Mexico is shown in control of the Southwest and California. Central America is labeled as Guatemala. Honduras and Nicaragua are also named. Topographical features are shown, along with major cities, towns, and waterways.
