- This map focuses on Mexico and Central America, although it also has good detail of New Mexico and Texas, which were still parts of Mexico. New Mexico is shown as a narrow strip of land along the upper Río Grande River. The caminos reales connecting French Natchitoches and Santa Fé with Mexico City are prominently delineated. Small crosses on the map identify the locations of numerous mines.
