Texas
- Title:
- Texas
- Creator:
- Bradford, T. G. (Thomas Gamaliel), 1802-1887
- Abstract:
- Published as the political tensions escalated toward the Texas Revolution, Bradford’s map is considered the first map showing Texas’s shift from a Mexican province, Coahuila y Tejas, to a Republic. This map owes a great deal to Austin’s 1830 Map of Texas, the most accurate map of that time, but Bradford included more empresario land grants, named numerous settlements, and opted for the disputed 1819 border with Arkansas.
